I'm just finishing up an intense two weeks of planning. I have been consumed with planning and preparing for next year:Writing out lesson plans for the first quarter, figuring out a new curriculum, pouring over text books and workbooks, getting a handle on themes I'll be teaching this year.
Home management stuff: planning out the year's calendar, coming up with daily & weekly schedules, schedules for meals, chores, vacations, family days, and running a household of seven.
Directing SGA:(Sovereign Grace Academy) our church's Private School Satellite Program. I've been holding planning meetings with teachers, coming up with policies and procedures, overseeing the Academy Day (on campus classes and co-op), finding helpers and delegating work, managing the SGA office, creating new forms, sending out registration packets for next year's enrollment, planning orientation meetings, figuring out budgets and costs for classes...
Planning training and discipleship topics for the girls, coming up with things to do for our monthly Girl's Day Out.
Inputting a year's worth of church events and activities: pastor's couples, care group leaders couples, youth group, leader's wives, hospitality...etc.
Syncing my calendar with Ron's - making sure I know when he's out of town or when we have a get-away weekend. :)
Plugging in a monthly "Tami's Day Off." Whoohoo!! Ron takes the kids and I get to go out for the day!
Now that my planning is (almost) done, I'm officially on my break!! I am free to enjoy the weekend! Andrea is coming in tonight and I'm looking forward to a relaxing couple of days - away from the computer, schedules, my office and my calendar!
On Sunday night, we're going to the Hollywood Bowl. That's one of my favorite things to do. I'm planning a special picnic that we'll take and eat on the grounds of the Hollywood Bowl before the concert. We'll be listening to songs from Les Miserable - and since we just saw the musical, the story it still fresh.
Since we're experiencing very hot weather, I won't be doing much cooking this week--another break for me!
To top it all off, next week we start our 2 week "stay-cation" - stay at home vacation!
