We've been having a great time this week preparing for Thanksgiving. We're having an extra special holiday this year as Andrea and her parents, Jonathan and Mary, will be joining us. We've got a lot of fun planned for the weekend: our Annual Thanksgiving Morning Hike in Millard's Canyon, Golfing for the guys, A quaint Tea House for the girls, Dinner in Sierra Madre, A Trip to the Observatory in Griffith Park and a Family Game Night. We'll do our best to post pictures this week of all our activities. We are looking forward to a great time with the Lambros Family. One of the things we did this year was to make a Grateful Garland: we cut out leaf shapes and wrote out scriptures, quotes and things we were grateful for on them. We're having trouble uploading photos today, so we'll post them later.
Quotes:
O Lord that lends me life, Lend me a heart replete with thankfulness!
William Shakespeare
If I have enjoyed the hospitality of the Host of this universe, Who daily spreads a table in my sight, surely I cannot do less than acknowledge my dependence.
G. A. Johnston Ross
Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.
Henry Ward Beecher
Thanksgiving Day Prayer
Heavenly Father, on Thanksgiving Day
We bow our hearts to You and pray.
We give You thanks for all You've done
Especially for the gift of Jesus, Your Son.
For beauty in nature, Your glory we see
For joy and health, friends and family,
For daily provision, Your mercy and care
These are the blessings You graciously share.
So today we offer this response of praise
With a promise to follow You all of our days.
