Even though summer days are getting longer, we know how quickly summer vacation flies by. In a few short weeks we'll be buying school supplies and hauling out text books. So this summer we've come up with a plan to use our free time wisely and creatively. Each girl had to choose:While we're not on a schedule, our days are divided into sections using time for reading, creating, music, projects, outdoor activities and some summer household projects.
- A devotional plan for a quiet time in the mornings
- A musical goal for her instrument - whether a new piece to learn on the piano and violin or several chords on the guitar
- Learn something new
- Read 4 books
- A hand craft to do (or improve) - sewing, drawing, painting, knitting, crocheting...etc.
- A Physical activity: jogging, walking, hiking or swim team.
Each week we're planning morning hikes (Tuesdays) beach days (Thursdays) and a library afternoon (Fridays).
Of course, we can't forget to do a Hollywood Bowl Concert or some free summer concerts in the park.
Travel plans include: San Diego for the 4th of July weekend for a church conference; a week in Michigan to visit family; and a week camping in King's Canyon in August.
I think it's going to be a good summer. :)
