Quick Family Update:

Just finished two weeks of Jury Duty - downtown Los Angeles. I rode the Metro each day to the courthouse ( I felt so urban) - had to take it first to Union Station and then switch to another line to get to the Civic Center - and then walk a couple of blocks. The case was a simple robbery with a weapon - but the trial took so long because of several mandatory evacuations of the building. Once was a fire drill (took half the day) and two days the building was shut down because of a broken water main. All in all, it was a good experience - met some nice people and convicted a career criminal.

Paige is creating another masterpiece - redesigning a prom gown - using Taylor as her model this time.

Taylor is playing in a string quartet with three other girls - and practicing her violin diligently everyday and will perform on the school's graduation night.

I can't wait for school to be over - running out of steam.

We're going camping the middle of June. The day after our exchange student leaves. Looking forward to a little break.

We're getting three Ukrainian students (girls) this summer - not sure when or for how long - details coming soon.

Paige got a job at Pinkberry's - a yogurt shop just 4 miles away in La Cananda. Works mostly on the weekends.

Ron just bought a commuter bicycle to get to work and back. (It's just 3 miles away). Unfortunately, we're getting a rare rain storm this week so he won't be able to ride it until Thursday or Friday. We're looking forward to some long bike rides together on the weekends.

Just got matched with a student for the fall - a girl this time - Emily- and a student at the Christian High School here in Pasadena. Might look into having two students... (we have some remodeling projects that need attention - and this is the best way for me to work while at home.)

We're picking up Courtney from LAX Thursday night - finally coming home from England! We've missed her so much, glad to get her back!
