Went to the doctor today and she said that my blood tests are looking very good: no sign of inflammation or the vasculitis. Looks like all the meds are doing their job!
She is reducing my chemo and tapering the steroids, so we are very happy about that! I asked her if I was in remission and she said it's a drug induced remission. The real test comes when we stop the chemo and the steroids... If there are no flare ups, then I will be in remission and will be put on a less toxic "maintenance" drug for another year or so. I have blood tests every two weeks in order for the doctor to monitor how the drugs are working and how the disease is reacting. May 7 is the end of the six month chemo treatment.
I'm feeling much better...stronger and able to do more things. Drove for the first time by myself in four months- felt really good and opens up a whole world of independence for me. It feels good to be get out of the house more. Was able to take the girls out for coffee and had a great time sitting outside in the warm sunshine.

Tami. Praise God! This IS great news! I am so happy to know that drugs are working and that you have been able to get out of the house. Just in time for the beauty of Spring...and warmer weather. :) You are such a trooper. I love you and not only am I so grateful to God for what He is doing in your body, I am proud of you for sticking in there and fighting. xoxo tmarie
