We just returned from a Mother Daughter Retreat we held in Laguna Beach. We stayed in this hotel right on the beach, went shopping in downtown Laguna visiting quaint shops, eating at wonderful restaurants, and hanging out with other mothers and daughters at the beach.
We listened to two challenging and inspiring messages from Carolyn Mahaney and her daughters: Nicole, Kristin and Janelle. The messages were - A Mother's Responsibility and A Daughter's Response.
It was a great time to remind ourselves of our most important job as mothers and to spend time investing and building into our relationships with our daughters.
Since I was in charge of the retreat - including organizing the fund-raising, recruiting volunteers, buying and wrapping gifts and prizes, planning the catering and activities, (I recruited Courtney, Paige and Taylor to help me)- we took an extra day to just recuperate! We (my girls and I) had a great time together strolling Laguna Beach, dining at a French Cafe overlooking the beach, and lying on the beach enjoying the sun, surf and sand.
