Camping: El Capitan, Santa Barbara


We just had five lovely days camping on the beach in Santa Barbara. We found a beautiful site nestled among trees with an ocean view. The beach was just a short, scenic walk away. Since we were staying during the week, we practically had the campground to ourselves. Many times we were the only ones at the shore.

Sometimes, it felt like we were on a desert island!

We purposefully kept our time "low key" - lazing around, sleeping in,visiting different beaches in the area, playing volleyball, renting bikes, hiking, climbing rocks, body-boarding, playing games, reading and just sitting listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean and contemplating its immensity.

We are very grateful to have had this time of rest and refreshment - time to read, think, reflect and meditate and renew our spirits.
