Eaton Canyon Hike

Spent a beautiful morning hiking in a nearby canyon. After the recent rains, the stream was high and swift - making crossing a little slow and tricky. Just getting brave enough to cross over the fast moving current took some time ~for me, at least.

Along the way we scrambled over rocks, hopped on boulders in the water, "tight rope" walked across logs, climbed up and slid down steep hills.

Trying to keep my balance on wet rocks and not get soaked was my main objective. I did pretty well until the last bit of our journey when one leap onto a slippery rock left me teetering to keep my balance and I had to step into the creek in order to not completely fall. Once the fear of falling (and getting wet) was gone it was so much easier to navigate the stream crossings.

What a beautiful way to start our day - fresh air, enjoying God's gift of gorgeous nature, extraordinary colors after the rains...and spending time with friends.

If it's not raining on Monday, I think we'll go back and take Ron with us this time - so fun!
