In the summer of 2006, I decided to start an annual tradition of taking all our girls for a weekend out together: stay in a hotel, sit in a jacuzzi, swim, walk the beach, go shopping - etc. I wanted to provide a time where we could concentrate on our friendships, build memories and have fun together. I wanted to start something that we could continue even when they grow older, go to college, get married...something that we could look forward to each year.
This girls' weekend was rather spontaneous. On Friday, as we were going over schedules, we realized that between Courtney starting a new semester at college soon,
and other various commitments, we weren't going to have another free weekend in several months! So we quickly booked a hotel for Sunday afternoon and started packing.
This year, we took a trip to Seal Beach: we stayed in our favorite hotel, swam, jacuzzied, watched Northanger Abbey (Jane Austen), went out for coffee, walked the pier and ate at the famous Ruby's, perused a bookstore, shopped, and had a great time!
Memories made. Friendships strengthened. Priceless!
