It's been difficult to sleep lately with the huge fires raging behind our house on our mountains - it's quite dramatic - even apocalyptic looking with the bright orange flames, gigantic mushroom clouds, helicopters buzzing, fire engines racing down our street, crowds gathering on street corners to gaze at the amazing sights.
Check out my friend Bethany's pictures of the fires near her home. Her house is about a mile northwest (closer to the fires) from ours.
