Ron's gone this week for a study break. He usually goes to a retreat center near Lancaster - but this time he decided to stay close to home in Sierra Madre at a beautifully situated Monastery in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. They rent out private rooms for people who want to come for personal retreats.It's a peaceful, quiet place where he can think and study and pray as he plans out the next couple of months for the church.
We don't usually have two weeks back to back with him away from home, but it worked out for him to take this week off after just returning from the conference in Kentucky and then preaching in San Diego last week. We were fortunate to have him here for the weekend in between- so it won't be an entire two weeks gone from home.

The Monastery retreat center is only quiet when my kids aren't yelling in the backyard! I think their voices carry throughout the field! I'll have to keep an ear out for that. Glad Ron got away...Laura
